In a letter, 1874 March 7, Longfellow writes to "My Dear Mr. Osgood," asking for several copies of his Household poems and saying he sees no "echo of the Echo" in any papers and hopes that Mr. Bonner will publish soon.

James R. Osgood was a native of Maine who went to work for the publishing house of Ticknor and Fields. He eventually founded the subsidiary group James R.
